Rec Place: The After School of Choice!

Rec Place Afterschool, Inc. is located in the Lower Falls Community Center at 545 Grove Street in Newton. We serve children who attend the Williams and Angier Schools.

We are currently accepting applications for children entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024. Spaces are offered on a first come first served basis.

The program is designed to:

• Create a comfortable atmosphere in which children feel secure, respected, and involved.
• Foster responsibility, self-discipline and self-esteem.
• Support and encourage positive interactions between children and adults.
• Facilitate activities where students can gain and refine skills like fine motor skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and collaboration, problem solving, and community service.

Program Details:

• We follow the Newton Public Schools academic calendar.
• The program runs from the end of school until 5:45 PM. There is an extended option until 6:15. (Parents can sign up for extended options on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.)
• Vacation week programs are contingent on sign-up numbers. 
• Outdoor facilities include: Tennis and basketball courts, an ice skating rink (seasonal), soccer and baseball fields, and a playground.
