Rec Place: The After School of Choice!
Welcome to Rec Place Afterschool, Inc.
Located at the Lower Falls Community Center, 545 Grove Street in Newton, Rec Place Afterschool serves children from Williams and Angier Schools, offering a supportive and engaging environment for afterschool care.
We are currently accepting waitlist applications for children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2025. Enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis, and we are currently at capacity.
Our Program: Rec Place is designed to provide a safe and nurturing space where children can thrive.
We focus on:
- Creating an environment where children feel secure, respected, and engaged.
- Promoting responsibility, self-discipline, and self-esteem.
- Encouraging positive interactions between children and staff.
- Facilitating activities that help children develop key skills, such as fine motor skills, teamwork, problem-solving, sportsmanship, and a sense of community.
Program Details:
- Schedule: We operate on the Newton Public Schools academic calendar, with afterschool care running until 5:45 PM. For added flexibility, we offer an extended option until 6:15 PM, which can be arranged daily, weekly, monthly, or for the entire year.
- Vacation Weeks: Our vacation programs are offered based on demand.
- Outdoor Facilities: Children can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including tennis and basketball courts, soccer and baseball fields, and a playground.
