Rec Place! The After School of Choice

Rec Place Afterschool, Inc. is located in Lower Falls in Newton. We serve children who attend the Williams and Angier Schools. The program currently runs from the end of the school day until 5:45 every day with an extended option until 6:15.

We are currently accepting applications for children who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024. Spaces are limited and enrollment forms are accepted and space is offered on a first come first served basis.

Rec Place Afterschool at Lower Falls Community Center, 545 Grove Street, is entering its 36th year of providing high quality and affordable care for children who attend Angier and Williams Elementary schools in Newton. (617) 332-7327

The program is designed to:

• Create a comfortable atmosphere in which children feel secure, respected, and involved.
• Foster responsibility, self-discipline and self-esteem.
• Support and encourage positive interactions between children and adults.
• Facilitate activities where students can gain and refine skills like fine motor skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and collaboration, problem solving, and community service.

Program Details:

• We follow the Newton Public Schools academic calendar.
• The program runs from the end of school until 5:45 PM. There is an extended option until 6:15. (Parents can sign up for extended options on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.)
• Vacation week programs are contingent on sign-up numbers. 
• Outdoor facilities include: Tennis and basketball courts, an ice skating rink (seasonal), soccer and baseball fields, and a playground.
  
  The program is administered without regard to race, age, gender, religion, national origin, political or union affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation, disabilities, or toileting proficiency.
