Employment

We are a small, friendly afterschool looking for a staff member who likes working with kids primarily; but also enjoys cooking, field trips, creative projects, and playground activities – ranging from four square, ice skating, basketball, and tennis, to flying kites and building forts. The position involves working with mixed aged groups of children in kindergarten through 5th grade.

We have a terrific staff and renovated building, along with a great playground including tennis and basketball courts. We are located close to the “T” (the Riverside stop on the Green Line). There is good opportunity for advancement.

THIS IS NOT A SUMMER JOB, but follows the school year (September – June). The hours are as follows: Monday/Tuesday/Friday 2:15PM-5:45PM, Wednesday 11:45PM-5:45PM, and Thursday 1:15PM-5:45PM.

A part time option of 2- 4 days would also be considered.

The job entails preparing snacks, eating and chatting with the children, playing outside, and then running an hour-long activity. Your main focus will be in the art room – running choices such as painting and drawing; but also leading craft projects such as sewing, paper mache, clay, and more. Some days you can run activities in the other rooms such as the gymnasium, board games room, or drama and music room.

Bring your hobbies, your favorite childhood games and your skills to share with a group of great kids who are eager to learn and play. Camp experience is a plus, sense of humor is a must. This is a dynamic program with some classic traditions combined with various new staff and child-initiated activities.
